Three stolen canvasses by 17th century Spanish artist Diego Velazquez, including one worth more than $1 million, were found hidden behind a cupboard in a photographer’s home in Taurianova, Italy. The most important of the three works, a painting of St. Luke the Evangelist, is valued at about $1.1 million; the other paintings represent St. Matthew and St. Mark. Police charged the photographer with receiving stolen goods.
