Raiders : Mosebar, Jordan Fill In Contract Blanks, Fill Out Offensive Line

Three weeks into training camp, the Raiders finally registered 100% attendance Wednesday when their last holdouts, center Don Mosebar and right tackle Shelby Jordan, signed contracts and joined drills.

Thus the Raiders, who were supposed to be rebuilding their offensive line after last season’s team record of 64 sacks allowed, can finally put a No. 1 unit together.

“I think we’ll have a pretty good offensive line when the dust settles,” Coach Tom Flores said. “I think there’ll be one or two faces you haven’t seen before, although I don’t know whether they’ll be in the starting lineup. We have more good talent around here than we’ve had in a while.”

Mosebar, 25 and coming off his first Pro Bowl, signed a four-year package. Terms were undisclosed but he made $195,000 last season and the guesses start at $350,000.

Jordan, 35, earned $350,000 last season and since he has been tabbed to rejoin the starting lineup, he probably got a raise.

“It was getting pretty boring, sitting around the house,” Mosebar said. “I was watching a special on ESPN on Dick Butkus yesterday and I said, ‘I better get out there.’ ”

Did that mean he’d called his agent and instructed him to take the Raider offer?

“No,” Mosebar said, smiling.

Mosebar had arthroscopic surgery to remove 11 fragments from his left elbow three weeks ago. He can practice but will be held out of the exhibition opener Saturday night against the 49ers at the Coliseum. Jordan may play a little.

For Mickey Marvin, the veteran guard who has a swollen knee, the news isn’t good.

Flores said Marvin probably will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery. If so, it may well spell the end of a career.
