Malibu : Longtime Activist Honored

Share

More than 150 people honored longtime Malibu activist Faye Hove at a tribute Aug. 8 at the Malibu Community Center on Point Dume.

Hove has spent 32 years as a key volunteer in efforts ranging from the battle to keep a nuclear power plant from being built in Corral Canyon to the current fight against a county-proposed regional sewage system.

“When I had to introduce her, I had three sheets of paper” listing her accomplishments, said Rob Rice, vice president of the Point Dume Community Assn., which sponsored the event.

Hove was presented with a state Senate proclamation citing her service. Six speakers, including representatives of the American Lung Assn., the League of Conservation Voters, the Malibu Board of Realtors and the Malibu Township Council, recalled their work with Hove.
