Garden Grove : Jailed Holdup Suspects Tied to Robbery Wave
A couple believed responsible for a string of clothing store robberies in the last two weeks were arrested on suspicion of robbing Krissy Fashions in Garden Grove, police said Thursday.
Thomas K. Brown, 34, and Angela Marie Cuviello, 28, both listing a Garden Grove motel as their residence, were booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery, said Lt. Ken Adair.
Bail was set at $50,000 each, he said.
According to police, they held up Krissy Fashions on the 6900 block of Chapman Avenue at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. Although no gun was brandished, clerks believed they saw a gun in Brown’s pants pockets, Adair said.
The robbers escaped with $60 in what witnesses described as an old white car. Garden Grove Police Detective Marty Donahue spotted a similar car minutes later on Beach Boulevard and followed it until a marked police car arrived.
Police confiscated a pellet handgun found in the car, Adair said. Investigators said they suspect the pair in nine other robberies committed in Cypress, Westminster and Huntington Beach.
