A Norwalk man was seriously injured with a depressed skull facture during a melee with sheriff’s deputies that led to his arrest, along with that of his brother and their father. Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Patterson said deputies had arrested Guillermo Juarez, 27, and two other men on suspicion of drinking in public when a crowd surrounded their vehicle in the 12100 block of Cheshire Street, Norwalk, and someone struck one of the deputies in the face. The deputies radioed for assistance and a general melee ensued in which four deputies suffered minor injuries and Juarez’s brother, Hector, 26, suffered the skull fracture. Hector Juarez was booked into the jail ward at County-USC Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition. He, another brother, Jose, 29, and their father, Guadalupe, 65, were arrested on suspicion of battery on a peace officer.
