Vladimir Zubkov, a defenseman on the Soviet National team, is expected to skate for a National Hockey League team this season, the Tass news agency reported.
Zubkov, 29, has played in more than 350 games for the Central Army Sports Club, the Soviet’s top hockey league. He scored 40 goals last season and was called “a pretty good scorer” in the Tass report.
