DeLaurentiis Entertainment Group said it is creating an internal audit department for the company, its Wilmington, N. C., studio and five regional sales offices. The company named John Reith, who joined DEG’s accounting department in May, to be director of internal audit. Federal securities regulators charged the Los Angeles-based independent film maker with failing to keep adequate books, records and internal accounting controls after the movie company went public in May of last year. The company agreed to settle the charges without admitting or denying guilt.
