A Stockton woman lost overnight in the Sierra Nevada was found uninjured 12 hours later, Calaveras County sheriff’s deputies reported. Rosemary Whitenton, 54, had been camping with her husband, Billy G. Whitenton, at Big Meadows Campground, nearly 50 miles east of San Andreas, and had not been seen since she took her dog for a walk Wednesday afternoon. Searchers found her just below Liberty Vista Point. The woman was airlifted out of the area to a hospital for a precautionary examination.
