A 67-year-old bicyclist was struck by a car and critically injured Friday night, Westminster police reported.
Toan Duc Luong of Santa Ana was riding his bicycle southbound, crossing Bolsa Avenue west of Ward Street, when he was struck by a car driven by Hung Thanh Le of Santa Ana, who was westbound on Bolsa Avenue, Lt. Bob Burnett said.
Luong was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, where he was on life-support systems, Burnett said. Luong reportedly had been returning from a shopping area on the bicycle, carrying a sandwich home to his grandson.
The accident is under investigation, Burnett said.
