The coroner’s office said Friday that cocaine poisoning caused the death of actor Kevin Marcum, who played a lead role in the Broadway hit “Cats” and was about to take over a lead role in “Les Miserables.”

Marcum’s death last month was caused by “acute cocaine intoxication,” spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said.

Marcum, 31, was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on July 20, two days after he failed to appear at work.
