Bob Vila, host of the PBS series “This Old House,” is looking for a slightly shabby Craftsman-style bungalow to remodel in the Santa Barbara area.

Vila wants the house to be the second project of the new season of the home renovation program, premiering in October.

“Southern California Craftsman bungalows offer a special, homey appeal, and we look forward to sharing the unique charms of one of these homes with our national audience,” Vila said.

According to the show’s producer, Russell Morash, the house must be within a 20-minute drive from Santa Barbara’s central State Street area, the owners must be handy, be able to finance the cost of labor and should be willing to appear in the taping of eight programs. Construction and taping will take place in January, February and March.

Homeowners interested in being considered for the project should send a description and photos of their bungalows and themselves to: Bungalow Project, This Old House, WGBH, 125 Western Ave., Boston, Mass. 02134.
