HOUSTON —
A gun carried to church Sunday by an off-duty police officer discharged when another churchgoer grabbed it and four members of the congregation were wounded, police said.
The officer had placed the gun in a pouch beneath his pew at Mount Hebron Baptist Church. A man sitting behind him grabbed for it and caused it to fire, police said. They said they were searching for the unidentified man, who fled the church.
