Dr. Byron Myhre of Palos Verdes Estates is the new president of the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center’s Faculty Society, which sponsors a visiting professorship and research awards at the teaching hospital and represents the faculty on academic issues.
Kenneth J. Daponte, formerly executive vice president of the Natural History Museum Foundation in Los Angeles, has been named president of Freeman Hospitals Foundation, which provides private-sector support for Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood and Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital in Marina del Rey. Francis R. Mariani, a co-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, has been named to the foundation’s board of directors.
J. Gaston Kent Jr., a Northrop Corp. vice president and Palos Verdes Estates resident, has been named to the board of directors of Robert F. Kennedy Medical Center in Hawthorne.
