A special Brea police team culminated a three-month undercover narcotics investigation Monday with the arrest of seven people and the seizure of $4,000 to $5,000 worth of cocaine, police announced Wednesday.

After an undercover officer bought one-quarter pound of cocaine at 9 p.m., police moved into the Santa Ana home of two of the suspects at 327 E. Buffalo Ave. One suspect, Jorge Garcia Nunez, 22, struck an officer across the head with a plastic replica of a semiautomatic weapon, police spokeswoman Jennifer Durbin said.

Arrested at the residence and charged with sales of narcotics and conspiracy to sell narcotics were Sue Ann Conley, 34, and Mark William Bosley, 23, both of the Buffalo Avenue address; Ramiro Ramirez, 22, of 2701 W. McFadden Ave., Santa Ana, and Nunez, whose address is unknown.

Nunez was also charged with assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon. Police said three other people were released without being charged.

Fullerton police assisted Brea police in the operation. The suspects were transported to the Fullerton Police Department for booking and later taken to Orange County Jail, where they remained in custody. Bail has been set at $25,000 apiece.

Police said a search of the residence turned up cocaine and free-basing paraphernalia.
