Mayor Tom Bradley kicked off a get-tough program to tow away illegally parked cars clogging city streets during rush hours. “We want everyone to know that rush-hour parking restrictions will be strictly enforced,” Bradley said. “If all the city’s motorists comply with the law, not only will we reap the benefits of free-flowing traffic, but the city won’t have to tow any cars.” Bradley joined a team of tow trucks and traffic officers along Highland Avenue in Hollywood as they began an intensified program of towing cars parked along streets in violation of parking restrictions for peak traffic hours. The intensified towing effort, which is accompanied by expanded parking restrictions in some areas, is the first part of Bradley’s eight-point plan for reducing traffic congestion in Los Angeles.
