Canoga Park Man Held in Slaying of Former Colleague
A Canoga Park man was arrested Saturday in the slaying of a former co-worker who died after he was stabbed repeatedly on a street near Runnymede Park, police said.
Lance Negroni, 29, was being held without bail in the West Valley Jail in the death of Ruben Estupinian, 30, of Canoga Park shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, said Los Angeles Police Detective Larry Dolley.
Dolley said police were led to Negroni by several friends who had been drinking beer with the pair at the park in Canoga Park.
The friends told police the two had left for a discussion that erupted into a fight in the 20200 block of Runnymede Street.
After the stabbing, both the attacker and Estupinian fled toward the park, apparently to get help, Dolley said. Estupinian collapsed and was pronounced dead at the scene. The attacker escaped on a motorcycle, Dolley said.
Dolley said the two had once worked at a cafeteria for a local branch of a large corporation.
