Nearly two dozen San Bernardino County Detention Center inmates were injured in a mess hall riot that reportedly grew out of a racial dispute between two prisoners, one Hispanic and one black. About 100 inmates became involved in the 5:40 a.m. brawl, jailers said, hitting each other with fists and metal trays. Outside officers had to be called in to help restore order.
