A judge in two of Israel’s most sensational trials has suffered a heart attack, forcing indefinite delays in the prosecution of alleged Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk and Mordechai Vanunu, who is accused of treason and espionage. Judge Zvi Tal, 57, was reported in stable condition at Jerusalem’s Shaarek Zedek Hospital after the heart attack Wednesday evening. Justice Ministry spokesman Yossi Hassin said the other two judges presiding over the Demjanjuk trial will meet today with prosecution and defense lawyers to discuss when the case can resume.
