Judge Shows Up Late, Fines Himself $50

PENSACOLA, Fla. —
A county judge, figuring that he deserved the same treatment as anybody else, slapped himself with a $50 penalty when he showed up late for a court date, his secretary said today.
“It’s not unexpected. That’s just the way he is,” the secretary said of her boss, Escambia County Judge Lacey Collier. It happened Thursday when Collier had a lengthy visit with his doctor.
