Mentally Ill
After 20 years of the deinstitutionalizing of the homeless mentally ill in this, the wealthiest and reputedly most compassionate nation in the world, the psychiatric community continues to contend that community facilities should care for these hapless people. How many more years will go by before people wake up to the reprehensible fact that the American society couldn’t care less what happens to these unfortunate, stigmatized victims of such irresponsible thinking?
