Renaldo Lorea, 6, of Salinas was shot and killed by his 10-year-old brother as the youngsters examined a .22-caliber rifle they found in a closet, police said. Renaldo was shot once in the head, police said. Police said that the older brother, Alfredo, apparently was struggling with a loading clip in the rifle when it went off, striking Renaldo, about five feet away, Salinas police detectives said. The boys’ mother, Soleedad lrea, had left them at home while she went to the store.
