‘Dog-Owning Has Had Its Day’

Share

McCarthy suggests, “Dog ownership has had its day.” This syndicated columnist has had his as far as I’m concerned. Give me the companionship and love of our dog any day to the presumptuous writer who dares to suggest a 20-year phase-out plan of dog ownership. If McCarthy is so concerned with the 55 poorest nations in the world, I suggest he join the Peace Corps. If population in Third World countries were controlled, there would be no homeless, starving people.

Yes, I believe in controlling pet overpopulation. Responsible owners keep their dogs on leashes, responsibly care for their bodily needs and keep them indoors when they are at work.

Animals offer great benefits both physically and mentally to their owners--they are part of the family.

It’s obvious to me that McCarthy is a depressed person and should seek help. His delusions of a dogless society is really sick!
