Local News in Brief : Driver Killed as Car Swerves for Exit Ramp
A Canyon Country woman was killed Tuesday when her car swerved to exit the Golden State Freeway, struck another vehicle and crashed into a tree, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Preeti Davda, 39, died at the scene of the 6 a.m. accident in the southbound lanes at the Buena Vista Street exit, said CHP Officer Diane Lowery. Davda’s car had swerved into a car driven by Irene Stanfill, 57, of Tujunga and went out of control, striking a tree next to the exit ramp, Lowery said. Stanfill was not injured.
