Firm Selling Notes to Raise Capital for AIDS Drug
Newport Pharmaceuticals International, a Newport Beach drug maker, said it has begun selling $12 million in convertible notes to raise money to pay for further research of Isoprinosine, the medication it hopes can be used by patients with immune deficiency syndrome and AIDS-related ailments.
