Peter Maher of Toronto easily won the Montreal International Marathon in 2 hours 15 minutes 4 seconds, beating a field of about 9,000. Maher, 27, beat runner-up Pawel Lorens of Poland by more than a minute.
Montreal’s Jacqueline Gareau, 34, was the first women’s finisher, in 2:32:51.
Elsewhere, Rodolfo Gomez won the Mexico City International Marathon in 2:18:50.
