Local News in Brief : Theft Suspect Charged
An 18-year-old former student of John Marshall High School in the Los Feliz area has been charged with grand theft in connection with the disappearance of $7,000 in student funds.
No arraignment date has been set for Jettye Sone Reedy, who is accused of stealing the money while working at the Los Feliz High School student store, according to Ted Goldstein, spokesman for the city attorney’s office.
Reedy, who graduated in June, was arrested last week by Los Angeles Unified School District police, district spokesman Bill Rivera said. Rivera said the arrest followed an investigation into discrepancies discovered over the summer in the financial records of the student store. Reedy is free on $500 bail.
