Mission Viejo : Marguerite Parkway Reopened to Traffic

Share

After a month of repair work, southbound lanes of Marguerite Parkway were reopened to traffic Monday.

The county closed the road Sept. 5 after water, leaking from a broken water main, caused the pavement to erupt, said Wendell Hartman, manager of the construction division for the county Environmental Management Agency.

Some 26,000 vehicles daily use that 1,200-foot-long section of roadway, just south of Oso Parkway, according to the county’s traffic division. Closure caused delays, as traffic was rerouted around the repair area.

Total costs have not been calculated for the repairs, which will be borne by the Moulton Niguel Water District, which took the responsibility for the broken water main.
