Renters are scouring video stores in search of “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,” which debuted at No. 8 on Billboard magazine’s rental chart. It should bump “Mannequin” out of the top spot in the next week or two. The oddball comedy “Raising Arizona” is proving a popular rental, climbing to No. 10 in just two weeks on the chart. Slapstick fans haven’t tired of the “Police Academy” series; the third sequel, “Citizens on Patrol,” is No. 12 on the rental chart. Animated animals dominated Billboard’s sales chart. “An American Tail,” the saga of an immigrant mouse, has been No. 1 for the last few weeks, but it could be chased out of that position next week and through the Christmas buying season by “Lady and the Tramp.” Other sales charts: The Grateful Dead’s “The Making of the ‘Touch More Grey’ Video and More” shot to the top of the music video chart. “Golf My Way With Jack Nicklaus” tops the sports chart.

* As expected, “Angel Heart,” the supernatural detective story, is a hot rental, jumping to No. 7 in its second week on the chart. That notorious X-rated love scene between stars Mickey Rourke and Lisa Bonet no doubt is the big attraction. Trimmed back to an R rating in the theatrical release, the scene was restored for the video version.
