In today’s other Redgrave update, sister Lynn was going back into court as Vanessa was clearing out. Lynn Redgrave filed a $30-million legal malpractice suit Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court against attorneys from the Los Angeles firm of Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Heine, Underberg, Manley, Myerson and Casey, who represented her in her much-publicized 1986 breast-feeding suit against MCA/Universal. In that suit, Redgrave sought to prove she had been wrongfully terminated from her role on the TV series “House Calls.” Redgrave and her husband John Clark allege in the malpractice suit that comments made in phone calls by MCA attorneys to Clark--during which his and Redgrave’s attorneys were not available for consultation--were taken by the judge hearing the Redgrave-MCA suit to constitute an oral settlement of all disputes. As a result, the MCA action was dismissed (but is being appealed). Attorneys from Finley, Kumble, Heine were unavailable for comment.
