Countywide : U.S. Sues Postal Union to Force New Election
U.S. Labor Secretary William Brock filed suit Thursday against a county labor union in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
The suit, filed against the American Postal Workers Union southwest coastal area local, seeks to nullify an April 2 mail ballot because, Brock said, union dues were used to promote incumbent candidates.
The government is seeking a court order to force a new election and the recall of the chief union stewards in Santa Ana and Newport Beach.
A spokeswoman for the AFL-CIO local said she could not comment on the lawsuit or provide other information.
