Atlas-Centaur rockets built by General Dynamics under a $315-million contract marking NASA’s first commercial rocket deal will launch a new generation of weather satellites. The announcement, made jointly by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Department of Commerce, covered the launchings of five National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration meteorological satellites beginning in 1990.
