The badly decomposed body of an unidentified woman was found in a drainage ditch Monday by county maintenance workers, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
The woman’s body, which the coroner’s office estimated had been dead for three weeks, was discovered under debris at 2:20 p.m. by the workers, who were clearing a culvert in the 9600 block of Blossom Valley Road in Lakeside.
Because of the body’s decomposition--which was “partially skeletonized”--the cause of death was not immediately apparent.
