Rebounding Kings Face Lemieux, Penguins Tonight

Share

Seemingly rejuvenated by a 2-1 victory Sunday over the Winnipeg Jets that ended a five-game losing streak, the Kings will meet high-scoring Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at the Civic Arena.

Lemieux is tied with the Edmonton Oilers’ Glenn Anderson for the National Hockey League lead with nine goals, including three in a 5-3 win Saturday night over the Buffalo Sabres. He ranks second in scoring behind Edmonton’s Wayne Gretzky with 21 points.

This will be the fourth game in a seven-game trip for the Kings, who are 2-6 and have scored as many as four goals in a game only once this season.
