World Series Shares for Players Reportedly Down From Year Ago
The Minnesota Twins will receive winning World Series shares of $85,580, and the losing St. Louis Cardinals will get $56,052, according to reports published by Newsday and the New York Daily News.
Both figures are below last year, when the champion New York Mets earned a record $86,254 and the Boston Red Sox received a record $74,985.
The baseball commissioner’s office would not confirm the numbers for this year’s Series teams, saying it would not release the figures until later this week.
Reportedly, the Twins voted 40 3/4 shares and the Cardinals voted 35 3/4 shares.
