Greg Roberts, 1978 Outland Trophy winner at Oklahoma, who later played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the wives of two other former National Football League players are out of jail as police continue an investigation of a drug ring that Roberts is accused of masterminding.
Roberts, an offensive lineman, was released on $75,000 surety bond Tuesday. He is charged with racketeering, three counts of conspiracy to peddle cocaine, two counts of conspiracy to deliver cocaine, conspiracy to deliver and possession of marijuana. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 146 years.
Also released were Janice Colzie and Gail Snell, wives of Roberts’ former Buccaneer teammates, defensive back Neal Colzie and guard Ray Snell.
