UCI Women Defeat Westmont in Soccer

Susan Hower scored with 5:40 left to play to lead UC Irvine to a 2-1 victory over Westmont in a women’s nonconference soccer match at Irvine Thursday.

Holly Fong scored on an assist from Wendy Kojima early in the second half as Irvine (7-10-1) took a 1-0 lead before Westmont (4-10-1) tied the score, 1-1.

Irvine goalie Robin Monico had six saves.
