Orange County College Roundup : UCI Beats Fresno State in Volleyball
Aly Wood had 14 kills and Kris Roberts and Kim Collins had 12 to lead UC Irvine to a 10-15, 15-12, 15-9, 15-11 victory over Fresno State in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. women’s volleyball match Friday at Irvine.
Irvine is 9-9, 4-7.
In other PCAA volleyball:
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 3, Cal State Fullerton 0--Susan Herman had 10 kills but Fullerton lost at San Luis Obispo, 15-8, 15-12, 15-9.
Nebraska Omaha 3, Chapman 1--Chapman (10-14) lost in the first round of the Nebraska Omaha tournament, 15-6, 15-8, 12-15, 15-7.
In Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. men’s soccer:
Fresno State 2, UC Irvine 1--Femi Olukanni had two second-half goals for Fresno (11-5-1, 6-2-1) and Jimmy Malavar scored for Irvine (5-11, 2-6). Irvine goalie Mike Gartlan had seven saves to set the school single-season record of 108.
