Body Found on City Hall Steps
An elderly man, apparently a transient, was found dead on the Spring Street steps of Los Angeles City Hall shortly after dawn this morning. The still unidentified man may have been among the homeless who sometimes sleep in doorways and porticoes in the Civic Center. A coroner’s autopsy was set for this afternoon, but Los Angeles police Lt. John McGinty said circumstances point to a natural death.
