Couple Die in Head-On Collision in Sunland

Aman and woman were killed Wednesday afternoon when their car collided head-on with a small truck that went out of control during heavy rain on a Sunland road, Los Angeles police said.

Tyler J. Bush, 18, was driving in the 8600 block of La Tuna Canyon Road when his small pickup truck hydroplaned, crossed the center lines and slammed into a Volkswagen Beetle carrying the couple, Sgt. Jay Taylor said. Taylor said the Volkswagen flipped upon impact.

The names of the victims were not released pending notification of kin. Bush, of La Crescenta, was treated for a cut forehead and released from Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, Taylor said.

Bush was not charged in the accident, which occurred about 2:30 p.m., Taylor said.
