With Dickerson Trade and Irvin Suspension, Mediocrity Is Attained
In his effort to gain respect around the league as its highest-paid running back, Eric Dickerson has cut off his nose to spite his face.
By betraying his team and his fans (remember us, Eric?), not to mention reneging on his contract, he has exposed himself as the worst of a new generation of sports mercenaries.
Mr. Dickerson has lost my respect and, I imagine, that of millions of Ram fans. Enjoy that fleet of Ferraris, old buddy, but don’t come cruising in this city. You’re not welcome anymore.
