Art Fowler and Clete Boyer will rejoin longtime friend Billy Martin on Martin’s 1988 coaching staff, the New York Yankees said.

Fowler, who coached Yankee pitchers under Martin in 1978 and 1983 and served on Martin’s staffs in Minnesota, Detroit, Texas and Oakland, will again be the pitching coach. Boyer will coach third base, replacing Mike Ferraro, who moves to first base.

George Mitterwald will serve as the bullpen coach, replacing Jeff Torborg, who will become an administrative coach, working from the press box. Chris Chambliss, employed in the front office last season, will join Martin’s staff as batting instructor.
