‘If Peace Breaks Out’

When the time comes to face another Warsaw pact to our south, who in their right minds would say then that we shouldn’t have acted now to defuse that eventuality when we had the chance to do it at a relatively small cost?

Let us not allow the partisan fervor blazing in the bowels of the Democratic majority in Congress blind the rest of us to the national security interests of the nation as a whole. Let not their desire to bring down a Republican President also bring down the American citadel of liberty.

The Democrats in Congress are good people, but they are letting their partisan hatred of Ronald Reagan cloud their reasoning processes as it relates to the defense of liberty. Their hatred of Reagan is greater than their hatred for communism. If that hatred is allowed to triumph, it will spell the doom of liberty in Central America and ultimately the United States.

When we find the forces of communism overrunning the forces of freedom in Central and South America, and when future Americans find themselves forced to face that larger and larger looming threat to their own security, they will curse the memory of those small-minded men who sacrificed the cause of liberty in exchange for their lust after the blood of this Republican President.
