County : Repainting Will Limit Wayne Airport Parking

Share

Travelers should be careful about parking at John Wayne Airport next month, or they will face delays and might even find their cars towed as parking areas are repainted, airport officials warned.

The short-term parking lot in front of the passenger terminal will be restriped over two consecutive weekends to add 127 new parking spaces, including 24 for handicapped persons.

One-third of the lot was restriped last July, adding 72 new spaces.

The south section of the lot will be closed for restriping from 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, through 11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. The center section will be closed from 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, through 11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

Cars left in closed sections will be towed at owners’ expense, airport officials said.

Parking will be available at the long-term lot just north of the passenger terminal, or at a second long-term lot north of the San Diego Freeway on Main Street, between MacArthur Boulevard and Redhill Avenue. Both facilities are heavily patrolled and have shuttles to and from the passenger terminal every 15 minutes.
