A Mexican citizen died early Sunday after being struck on Interstate 805 in San Ysidro by at car that left the scene, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The victim was identified as Manuel Rivera, who appeared to be in his 30s, according to the San Diego County coroner’s office. It was not immediately known where he resided in Mexico.
Rivera was hit Saturday evening as he crossed the northbound lanes of I-805 near Main Street in San Ysidro. Rivera died at Mercy Hospital.
