ABC spokesmen dismissed news reports that “Dolly,” which now airs Sundays at 9 p.m., might be moved to a different time slot on Saturday night in the wake of plummeting ratings. A company spokesman said that Brandon Stoddard, ABC Entertainment president, called the time-change reports untrue. While noting that no official discussions have been held about changing the time slot, Don Mischer, producer and co-director of the expensive Dolly Parton variety series, acknowledged that the less-than-desirable ratings are leading the production team to consider some changes. ABC has invested $40 million in “Dolly,” which dropped from the No. 5 spot of the week in September to a tie at No. 40 this week.
