Volunteers Needed as Role Models, Friends for Troubled Youngsters : AWARDS LUNCHEON HONOREES

The Volunteer Center of South Orange County, in collaboration with the Carnation Company, honored 175 volunteers at the 15th Annual Carnation Awards Luncheon at the Westin South Coast Plaza last weekend.
Silver bowl awards for distinguished volunteer service were presented to: Mark Causey, volunteer for Irvine Temporary Housing; Tom Armbruster, volunteer for Laguna Beach Community Clinic; Truong Van Dong, volunteer for United Way, Red Cross, March of Dimes and the Vietnamese community; Bob Hall, volunteer for St. Joseph Hospital; Katherine Newman, serving on the board of the Episcopal Service Alliance; Kathy Scott, volunteer for Bartlett, an affiliate of Western Medical Center, Santa Ana Auxiliary, and Ruth Rowland, volunteer for Western Medical Center, Santa Ana Auxiliary.
