Local News in Brief : Prosecutor Expects Firing

Share

A prosecutor accused of having sex with a prostitute in a parked car has been notified that the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office intends to fire him, one of his attorneys said Friday.

The letter chastises Deputy Dist. Atty. Gary P. Kesselman for “conduct unbecoming to a deputy D.A.” in connection with the Oct. 14 incident, attorney Harold Greenberg said.

Assistant Dist. Atty. Curt Livesay refused to confirm or deny that a letter was sent this week to Kesselman, 45.

Kesselman, the original prosecutor in the “Twilight Zone” case, has been on unpaid leave since the charge of misdemeanor lewd conduct was filed.

Kesselman has filed a $7-million federal suit alleging that his bosses tried to pressure him to perjure himself while he was on the witness stand in the “Twilight Zone” trial.
