Now in its second year of teaming classroom teachers and professional artists, the San Diego Institute for Arts Education has been tapped to play host to the biennial conferences from the 16 Lincoln Center Affiliate Institutes in the United States and Australia. The conferences will be Thursday and Friday at the Bay Club on Shelter Island.

The institutes will be comparing notes on the best way to bring dance, theater, music and the visual arts to students, and giving pointers to other cities that want to set up similar programs.
