6.1 Earthquake Injures 3 People in Nicaragua

MANAGUA, Nicaragua —
A strong earthquake shook Nicaragua, injuring at least three people and sending thousands of frightened residents from their homes, officials said Tuesday.
The quake, at 9:45 p.m. Monday, registered 6.1 on the Richter scale and was centered in the Pacific Ocean about 50 miles southwest of Managua, according to the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo.
