“Mister Rogers” and his Soviet counterpart extended glasnost to children’s television Thursday, unveiling a show they taped together for Soviet viewers in September and announcing a similar visit to “Mister Rogers Neighborhood” next week. Fred Rogers, whose show for preschoolers has been seen on PBS for 20 years, was the first guest ever to appear on the nightly “Good Night, Little Ones,” the longest-running children’s show in the Soviet Union. Tatiana Vedeneeva, the glamorous host of the Soviet program, will visit the set of “Mister Rogers Neighborhood” in Pittsburgh on Monday.
